Volunteer Form — name, email address, phone number, neighbourhood, volunteer preferences, availability, and any message you choose to include.

Lawn Sign Request Form — name, service address, phone number, and email address.

Donation Record Form — full legal name, email address, phone number, home address, donation amount, payment method, and date. Home address is required by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 for election finance reporting.

Contact Form — name, email address, subject, and your message.

We also collect anonymous, aggregated website usage data through Google Analytics (see Section 9).

3. Why We Collect It

Personal information is collected for the following purposes:

• Coordinating volunteer activities and canvassing operations
• Delivering requested lawn signs to your address
• Issuing donation receipts and complying with Ontario election finance reporting requirements under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996
• Responding to general inquiries, media requests, and event invitations
• Sending campaign updates and communications to supporters who have signed up to receive them
• Understanding how visitors use this website in order to improve its content (analytics only)

We will identify the purpose for collecting personal information before or at the time of collection.

Consent for donation record information cannot be fully withdrawn where retention is required by law under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.

Your personal information may be shared in limited circumstances:

• Campaign team members — campaign staff and volunteers involved in coordinating the activity you signed up for
• Netlify Inc. — our website hosting and form processing provider. Form submissions are processed through Netlify Forms and stored on Netlify's servers. Netlify's privacy policy is available at netlify.com
• Election authorities — donation information is disclosed to the City of St. Catharines as required by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 for public financial reporting after the election
• Legal requirement — if required by law, regulation, or lawful court order

We do not share your information in any other circumstances without your explicit consent.

7. Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law.

• Volunteer and contact information — retained for the duration of the 2026 campaign period and up to six months after the election, then securely deleted unless you request continued communications
• Donation records — retained for a minimum of four years after the election as required under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996
• Analytics data — Google Analytics retains aggregated usage data per Google's standard retention settings. This data contains no personally identifiable information

We implement reasonable and appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.

• This website is served over HTTPS with TLS encryption
• Form submissions are transmitted securely via Netlify's encrypted pipeline
• Access to form submission data is restricted to authorised campaign team members
• We do not store credit card or banking information — no payment processing occurs on this website

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take all reasonable precautions to protect your information.

This website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to understand how visitors use the site and to improve its content.
